Animals Industry Information Technology System
The Animal Industry Bureau, a division of the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) (the “Agency”), has the mission to protect the health and welfare of animals within the state of Iowa through a variety of programs. The Agency works closely with veterinarians, producers, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and other state animal health officials. The Agency is currently looking to upgrade its current information technology systems, increase its current capabilities, streamline processes and procedures, and have access to accurate information as quickly as possible. Ideally, the system would be a single repository for information including, but not limited to, animal locations, producer/caretaker contact information, veterinarian contact information, test results, disease status, reminders, license management, investigations and reports, permits, certificates of veterinary inspections and incident management.
