Content Management System and Portal
The Public Employment Relations Board (the “Agency”) seeks the development of a content management system and web portal to manage public employee union elections.
The current system involves multiple data locations that contain duplicate information and do not provide a uniform method for collecting and managing data.The desired solution would have vastly improved overall functionality as well as an updated look & feel that would help achieve the current administration’s goals of making it easier for Stakeholders to efficiently enter, and retrieve, information. More importantly, this improved system will allow all users to easily access public information from a single source in a consistent and manageable format.
In order to fix the current problems and improve the process for future use, the Agency seeks:
- A single repository for its data, consistent with State of Iowa requirements.
- Robust data search and reporting capabilities for both internal and external users,
including a public search tool for data specified as “publicly available”. - A website interface that allows Stakeholders to upload data through a secure
portal, with the ability to add metadata automatically and by the user via the
website application.
